Challenge Heaven

Well, I've been off my blog for a month now ... have moved house and celebrated Christmas and we all know how time consuming that all is.
I have 2 pages to share for the Challenge Heaven December/January Challenges, which I actually finished before I packed, but then my laptop died and I'm just catching up with loading them : )

The first one is a Themed Challenge, the theme is 'Grandparents' and I have scrapped my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary.
The criteria is to use Kraft cardstock as the base, and believe it or not it's under all the glimmermist and stamping. I used SWAK glimmermist and Worn Lipstick all over this layout !
I have also used my fav new toy, the Tim Holtz tattered flowers die on music paper, LOVE IT !!

The 2nd page is for the Number Challenge, and I have scrapped my son Brayden, when he was much younger 'Santa Baby'. I have full filled the long list of criteria, here goes : 1 card stock (I used raspberry), 2 word title (santa baby), 3 flowers (poinsettias) and 4 PP's ( I have used G45 xmas past, 2 x MME holly jolly and Kaiser
tis the season). An added criteria was to use staples and they are there, at the corners of the newspaper type PP and at the ends of the tickets at the bottom.
Thanks for looking, and remember to check out Challenge Heaven, as they have extended the Dec challenges to the end of Jan 2011.

Happy New Year Blogger friends xx Michelle

1 already

Here is another LO, that I have done for Challenge Heaven, it is a number challenge and I was required to have a number as or in the title and to use multiple photos (hope 2 counts as multiple).
I have used the very bright and colorful My Little Shoebox, Flying High and All a Flutter Papers. The photo's are of my gorgeous niece Ruby !
Actually did this page yesterday and had trouble loading it, no matter what I tried it kept loading the pic sideways, I finally fixed the problem and then realised there was a spelling mistake in the title, luckily the thickers I used peel of easy, but I did actually want a ? at the end and it kind of doesn't fit now. Anyway this will do ...

Sketch Challenge - Moana

I have completed another challenge, boy am I on a roll. Amazing what a bit of scrapping can do, to get the creative processes going again : )
The sketch is for Challenge Heaven and I'm rather happy with the outcome ! This is the new Kaisercraft, Seaside Range. I have also hand sewn the border, a first for me, and definitely worth the effort, I have also used rustic core'dinations and a bit of vintage photo and spiced marmalade.
Photo's are of my youngest two, enjoying a bit of playtime down at Moana Beach last sunday : )

Here is a LO I have done for a challenge at Challenge Heaven it's the color challenge and the criteria is Halloween colors and also brackets. I have used Basic Grey Eerie PP's and also cut the flocked witch from the My Minds Eye Haunted PP : )
Enjoyed finally scrapping some Halloween photos from 2009.

Family & Friends

I have been a busy bee ... here are 2 of my submissions for the scrap of difference cypercrop challenge, which the theme is 'Friends & Family' and also flowers. My first is the sketch challenge and I have used My Mind's Eye - Bloom and Grow PP's and embellishments. I have scrapped my nephew Taj.

The second challenge I have completed is the technique challenge, which was a great idea for a challenge I think !! Required is 1 altered flower and 1 completely hand made flower. I have used Kaiser Bohemian Threads PP, and also used the PP for all the flowers, 1 was cut out and altered and the other 3 I cut using my slice. This page is of myself and my brother.

Also, on Friday night I went to Abundantias Gold for a Scrap'n'Chat and had a play with the newly released Kaiser Gypsy Sisters, and also the Glimmermist - Frozen Lake, here's my LO !

LaDiDa !!!

Here's a LO I did last night for a Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin 'I love you' Challenge, the criteria this month is to scrap someone you love, use Hearts, Rub-on's & Ribbon. I have used papers and embellishments from the Kaisercraft LaDiDa range to scrap a photo of my brother and I when we were young.

I had some fun playing with some 'Smooch', which I used a pearl white tone over the rub-on, chipboard title & edges of the paper flowers.

Abundantias Gold has a new DT member ??

Yes, you heard me right Abundantias Gold have a new member of their Design Team, ME !! So totally excited !! I have taken over the Facebook, Scrapbooking Challenges for the month, so watch my blog for more exciting things happening !! You may be wondering what is Abundantias Gold, it's my local scrapbooking store, and also where I often join classes ! Check out the link above !!

Well, where did February go ?? Can hardly believe we are already in March ! I completed 10 Layout's in Feb and think I'm set to go way ahead of that this month !! I have been working on a few 'special' layouts for my Guest DT spot at From Screen 2 Scrap and can't wait to put them up on my blog !! I have also been getting stuck straight into the March Challenges at all my fav sites ! I have already completed my own challenge at Abundantias Gold (Facebook), which I decided with St Patricks Day being in March, the challenge should be a GREEN Layout ! My LO is below, I have used My Mind's Eye - Stomp PP.

I have a new passion for MME paper, there is just something about it, which catches my eye (pardon the pun lol ) I love the quality of the paper too !! So alot of my LO's coming are likely to be using MME !! Especially since I just discovered their website, which has HEAPS of inspirational LO's !

I have also completed the March Challenge at FS2S, the inspiration this month is 'Happy Feet' and the requirements are a mainly blue and white LO, 'feet' in the title and also a penguin. I decided to give the penguin a miss, but I'm happy with my LO ! It's a little abstract ... but interesting !

Well I think that's enough jabbering from me ... Thanks for having a look ... til next time x

Last for the Cybercrop

I have now completed almost all of the challenges for the Scrap of Difference Cybercrop for February, I have decided to give the card challenge a miss this month, but I have done all the others. Here is my take on the 'word' challenge, we were required to use the words 'at school', and I choose to use it in the title. I have used My Mind's Eye - Bloom and Grow PP & Cosmo Cricket - Earth Love. This is a special photo to me as it was the first time my son was comfortable enough to have his official school photo taken.

Thanks ...

A bit of fun !!

I have had a busy scrappin weekend and it's not over yet, I hope to do at least 1 more tomorrow for the scrap of difference cybercrop. In the meantime, I have done 2 LO's for a bit of fun !! The first is for Abundantias Gold (my local store) monthly challenge of face book, which is LOVE. I saw this PP at had to buy it, it doesn't need much on it as it already has lots of glitz. The 2nd LO is for Scrap of Difference - scraplift, and I have scraplifted a LO by Jo, it has stars and doodling and when I saw it, I couldn't resist using this pic of my eldest son. He was mucking around with a hat and shaking his hair around and just being a fool with his guitar ! Was a rare moment when he let me take pics of him lol ! I have used SEI Kaboom PP's.

Thanks ...

Scrap of Difference - Cybercroppin !!

The cyber croppin has begun at Scrap of Difference with a great theme of 'school days'. I have already completed 2 challenges, the first being a 'theme' challenge. You are required to use more than 1 school supply and an apple of your LO. I used paper clips, heaps of staples and some maths grip paper from an exercise book, and an apple. Below is my take on the challenge, it is called 'star student' and is off my eldest son, Jarred.

The second challenge I have completed is a 'sketch' challenge, it is a 6x12 sketch, but have made it into a 12x12 LO, the only other requirement other than the sketch was to use school themed PP. I have used Fancy Pants - All Fall papers (recess, multiply and inline). The page '1958' is a school photo of my mum, which is the first of many to come in the making of her 60th album.

Thanks ...

From Screen 2 Scrap - Pirates of the Carribean

I have been working on this LO, since the first of Feb ... I truly thought nothing was ever going to come of it. It is a LO for From Screen 2 Scrap this months movie title is Pirates of the Caribbean - at world's end, and you need to have a skull or 2, and for extra points a pirate ship, a parrot and a sword. I just could not come up with anything that I really liked ... until I took my boys to 'Tunza Fun' for a birthday party a few days ago, they were playing mini golf in a 'pirate' themed course ... and I just happened to have my camera !!! I seriously could not believe my eyes, when I saw this pirate statue, and the boys were more than happy to oblige.

So here's my take on the challenge, thanks ...

Valentines Scrapping

I joined in on a cybercrop this weekend at Mad About Scrappin I have only done 1 challenge so far, but hope to do another one before the 22 Feb deadline. The Challenge was to use the title '10 things I love about you' as it's a Valentines/Love theme. I was also required to use a scallop edge and a photo slide (arrange photos like a film strip). This is my take on the challenge.
I have used Bella - damsel PP's, Tell your story - journalling cards and finishing touches rub-ons.
I can't wait for the cybercrop this weekend at Scrap of Difference ! Put it in your diary Ladies !!

Gelli Baff ?

Thought I'd try to get 2 challenges done in 1 layout !! Here's how I went ... I have completed the Circle challenge at Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin which required circles (atleast 3), stars and hand writting and combined it with the ARTastic challenge for the month too, which is a painting by Mary Cassatt - 'The Bath'. The second page below is my February Calendar page ! I adore this photo of my youngest one Ryan !

Something special : )

We are into the 2nd month of the year and I am pretty proud to say, I completed 15 Layout's last month ! Most of which were for on-line challenges, definitely my new passion !!
Yesterday, I completed 2 Layouts for challenges. The first of which was for Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin, this time I have entered into the Color Challenge which was brown and I was required to use Rhinestones, Pearls and Bows. Brown is not really a colour I would usually choose, so I enjoyed the challenge, and also took to my page with a stapler for the first time !
The second layout is for a site I found just yesterday called Born2create, I was really inspired by the January Sketch Challenge, so thought, nothing like leaving it to the last minute and entered.

Last but not least, I was chosen as one of the Guest DT's at Screen2scrap, so privileged and can't wait to find out more !!
Thanks ...

24.1.2010 Blog

A fairly quiet week, scrapping wise ! Went to 'Not to Shabby' Class, and created a lovely tag, as pictured below. Learnt how to make a rose, and also stamping on film (angel wings). I really like the saying, and liked how we used the pin and little wings (german scraps).
Today I have completed 2 challenges, 1 for 'Scrap of Difference' and 1 for 'Aussie Girls Gone Scrapping'. The first one is a scraplift, which I took inspiration for Anne's LO (irritant), I really liked how she used the Kaisercraft Pina Colada PP, so I used the same PP, and then added my own touch !
The second one, is the first for the January Challenges, there are 5 in total, not sure how many of the 5 I'll get done this month, but it's a start. This one is a Quote Challenge, which required the quote, 'A day without Laughter, is a day wasted' Charlie Chaplin, and you also need to have flowers and buttons.

Thanks ...

'Not so Shabby'

Went to my first 'Not so Shabby' class for 2010 yesterday, was the only student back, so loved the one-on-one, but hope the other ladies are back next week. The idea of the class is to create something usually Off the Page, a small creation. Although when I started in Nov 09, we took 3 classes to make the Kaisercraft Advent Calendar, which I REALLY enjoyed !! Yesterday this is what I made :

Monday, January 11, 2010

Today I did a LO for a Challenge at 'Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin'. The theme was Christmas and the criteria was 3 christmas snaps or more, 1 piece of chipboard and lots of Glitter, Bling or KindyGlitz. Here's my LO ! I really quite like the way it turned out ...

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Well it's the 10th day of the month, it actually feels like it should be further into the month ! I have 3 boys at home on holidays, but the up side is, I'm getting so much scrapping done !!
Although haven't added anything since my calendar, I have done 1 card and 2 LO's, all using sketch designs, what do you think !

This is the sketch I used for my 'TEEN' LO, I have doubled it as a LO for a challenge with Abundantias Gold, the theme being - YOU. I am struggling to find pictures of me, that aren't horrid or really old, and lets face it, it's easier to scrap someone else.

And this is the LO I did today !!
It is of my 9 yr son's excursion to the zoo. I have been scrapping too much of one child and started feeling a little guilty (not that they care!).
I am feeling quite inspired by sketches and on-line challenges, I have also joined "Aussie Girls Gone Scrapping" and might have a go at one of their challenges !
I'll keep ya posted !
BUGGER, just did a spell check and I have spelt 'Excursion' wrong in my layout ! Did you even notice ?

Thursday, January 7, 2010

It's only the 7th of the month and I have completed something else I set out to do this month !! I surely can not keep going at this rate, and yes I have been looking after the kids, DON'T call the authorities ! hehehe ...

I have now completed 'January' of my 2010 Calendar. After looking and thinking about a totally different PP, I then looked thru my stash again, and thought it was time to use the 'Offshore' papers by Kaisercraft. They were so easy to use and if your like me and like to cut things out yourself, then this is the paper for you !! I found it just went together so easily and in no time, it was all finished !!
I really like the way this turned out, nothing too fancy, just a quick and easy page.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Hello again, 2 followers now ! I'm a happy scrapper !!

I have been a busy girl, have completed another layout for a scrap challenge, this one is for "Out of the Hat" the criteria is 1. Circle 2. Striped PP 3. One word title. Really enjoyed doing this, it was also inspired by "Abundantias Gold - Scrapbooking Challenge", this months challenge is about 'YOU'. I decided to scrap this photo as it's very recent and as it is usually me behind the camera, a photo of Shane and I is pretty rare !!

I wanted to try something new to me and this time it was using eyelets, to join a tear and make it look like lace underneath, hope I achieved this look. You be the judge ?

Monday, January 4, 2010

1 Down, Here is my 'From Screen 2 Scrap' Layout, ispired by 'Alfie' and the criteria was B&W and 1 bold colour, B&W pics and for the 'movie diva demand' 3 or more B&W pics. DONE !

Enjoyed doing this one, it's pretty plain and simple, but that was the inspiration by the movie cover to me. Fingers Crossed, a Guest DT (Design Team) for March is up for grabs !!

I'm going to set myself some goals for Jan 2010:
Enter Screen2Scrap Challenge - 'Alfie' Black, White & 1 bold, B&W photos
Enter Abundantias Scrapbooking Challenge (my local scrap store) - 'YOU'
Enter Out of The Hat Challenge - Circles, Striped PP & 1 word title

oh and .. a January page for my new 2010 Calendar, that my mother-in-law gave me for xmas, I know, so sweet of her, it even has text free Calendar pages. Although all those 1's and 2's are going to be difficult to find in my stash.

Wish me luck, and I'll keep you posted

Friday, January 1, 2010

Well well, who knew ... 2010 is here and I thought I'd start a blog !

I hope to share with you my scrappy thoughts and entries on other blogs, I'm pretty new to scrapbooking apart from creative memories a few years back, so bear with me while I try out new and exciting things !
