24.1.2010 Blog

A fairly quiet week, scrapping wise ! Went to 'Not to Shabby' Class, and created a lovely tag, as pictured below. Learnt how to make a rose, and also stamping on film (angel wings). I really like the saying, and liked how we used the pin and little wings (german scraps).
Today I have completed 2 challenges, 1 for 'Scrap of Difference' and 1 for 'Aussie Girls Gone Scrapping'. The first one is a scraplift, which I took inspiration for Anne's LO (irritant), I really liked how she used the Kaisercraft Pina Colada PP, so I used the same PP, and then added my own touch !
The second one, is the first for the January Challenges, there are 5 in total, not sure how many of the 5 I'll get done this month, but it's a start. This one is a Quote Challenge, which required the quote, 'A day without Laughter, is a day wasted' Charlie Chaplin, and you also need to have flowers and buttons.

Thanks ...

'Not so Shabby'

Went to my first 'Not so Shabby' class for 2010 yesterday, was the only student back, so loved the one-on-one, but hope the other ladies are back next week. The idea of the class is to create something usually Off the Page, a small creation. Although when I started in Nov 09, we took 3 classes to make the Kaisercraft Advent Calendar, which I REALLY enjoyed !! Yesterday this is what I made :

Today I did a LO for a Challenge at 'Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin'. The theme was Christmas and the criteria was 3 christmas snaps or more, 1 piece of chipboard and lots of Glitter, Bling or KindyGlitz. Here's my LO ! I really quite like the way it turned out ...

Well it's the 10th day of the month, it actually feels like it should be further into the month ! I have 3 boys at home on holidays, but the up side is, I'm getting so much scrapping done !!
Although haven't added anything since my calendar, I have done 1 card and 2 LO's, all using sketch designs, what do you think !

This is the sketch I used for my 'TEEN' LO, I have doubled it as a LO for a challenge with Abundantias Gold, the theme being - YOU. I am struggling to find pictures of me, that aren't horrid or really old, and lets face it, it's easier to scrap someone else.

And this is the LO I did today !!
It is of my 9 yr son's excursion to the zoo. I have been scrapping too much of one child and started feeling a little guilty (not that they care!).
I am feeling quite inspired by sketches and on-line challenges, I have also joined "Aussie Girls Gone Scrapping" and might have a go at one of their challenges !
I'll keep ya posted !
BUGGER, just did a spell check and I have spelt 'Excursion' wrong in my layout ! Did you even notice ?

It's only the 7th of the month and I have completed something else I set out to do this month !! I surely can not keep going at this rate, and yes I have been looking after the kids, DON'T call the authorities ! hehehe ...

I have now completed 'January' of my 2010 Calendar. After looking and thinking about a totally different PP, I then looked thru my stash again, and thought it was time to use the 'Offshore' papers by Kaisercraft. They were so easy to use and if your like me and like to cut things out yourself, then this is the paper for you !! I found it just went together so easily and in no time, it was all finished !!
I really like the way this turned out, nothing too fancy, just a quick and easy page.

Hello again, 2 followers now ! I'm a happy scrapper !!

I have been a busy girl, have completed another layout for a scrap challenge, this one is for "Out of the Hat" the criteria is 1. Circle 2. Striped PP 3. One word title. Really enjoyed doing this, it was also inspired by "Abundantias Gold - Scrapbooking Challenge", this months challenge is about 'YOU'. I decided to scrap this photo as it's very recent and as it is usually me behind the camera, a photo of Shane and I is pretty rare !!

I wanted to try something new to me and this time it was using eyelets, to join a tear and make it look like lace underneath, hope I achieved this look. You be the judge ?

1 Down, Here is my 'From Screen 2 Scrap' Layout, ispired by 'Alfie' and the criteria was B&W and 1 bold colour, B&W pics and for the 'movie diva demand' 3 or more B&W pics. DONE !

Enjoyed doing this one, it's pretty plain and simple, but that was the inspiration by the movie cover to me. Fingers Crossed, a Guest DT (Design Team) for March is up for grabs !!

I'm going to set myself some goals for Jan 2010:
Enter Screen2Scrap Challenge - 'Alfie' Black, White & 1 bold, B&W photos
Enter Abundantias Scrapbooking Challenge (my local scrap store) - 'YOU'
Enter Out of The Hat Challenge - Circles, Striped PP & 1 word title

oh and .. a January page for my new 2010 Calendar, that my mother-in-law gave me for xmas, I know, so sweet of her, it even has text free Calendar pages. Although all those 1's and 2's are going to be difficult to find in my stash.

Wish me luck, and I'll keep you posted
